A question we get asked a lot is, "How did you get started?" It is a good question, because nobody just falls into face painting as a job! So, enjoy this brief history of Glimmer Face Painting.
In 2010, while studying for her fashion degree, Sarah responded to a Craig's List ad looking for face painters for a prominent company here in Southern California. She got the idea to look when her sister had done some volunteer face painting at various events. So Sarah began working for the company, training under face painter Brenda Bourges. Brenda's company was still over-booked, so Sarah suggested her friend Alex for the job, since she was currently a student in animation at CSU Fullerton and a very talented artist. Once we felt confident in our skills as painters, we decided it was time to branch out on our own and start a new business.
So in November of 2010, Glimmer was born! We have also had the privilege of working with many very talented balloon artists over the past couple of years. We started from the beginning with the goal of being personable, relatable, and top-quality artists. We wanted customers to see our faces on the website and book with confidence knowing that they would see one of those artists at their party. Whenever we add someone new, we ensure they are share these values with us. Communication is another thing we stress--we try to respond to emails and texts as soon as humanly possible, because we know everyone's time is valuable. In spite all of this, we are still human and sometimes make mistakes! Your feedback is important to us, and we learn from every party and every customer's reception of our work. We've been in business for 2 years, which is a long time for face painting, but we are still a young business! We try to improve every day.
Hopefully we are in store for many more years of face painting! We'll see you at your next party.
